The Department of Measurement and Control (MRT) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) specializes in the development of intelligent sensing techniques for autonomous vehicles and for automated visual inspection tasks. Research projects focus on:
- Perception: 3d scene reconstruction, object detection and tracking, using active vision and laser scanners
- Localization: Accurate vehicle ego position estimation and automated map generation
- Knowledge Representation: Probabilistic and formal representation, reasoning and learning techniques for scene interpretation
We work in an interdisciplinary environment in cooperation with international research institutions, the automotive industry and train manufacturers.
